For Microsoft Windows Vista user Service Pack 2 is now available for download from Microsoft Download Center. It can be downloaded either as a standalone installer or as an ISO image for burning onto a CD/DVD.
Windows Vista SP2 (Windows6.0-KB948465-X86.exe) is around 348 MB. If you don’t want to download, wait until Microsoft pushes the SP2 patch via the Windows Update or Automatic Updates feature as that will only download the essential components for your system. SP2 will install only if your system already running SP1. Microsoft says that they chose not to offer a cumulative SP2 package this time to keep the file size less.
If you’ve used vLite software to customize the Windows Vista installation and some required system components were removed(or something similar), you may receive errors while installing SP2. In that case, either you can perform upgrade using your original Windows Vista DVD or reinstall Vista from scratch, then install SP1 and then update to Service Pack 2.
